We are making a difference!

Purrs in Piqua is a group of volunteers that are working to decrease the reproduction of stray and feral cats within Piqua. Purrs traps stray/feral cats, spay/neuters, provides a vaccine, eartips and then returns cats to the area from which they were trapped. We depend on the generosity of donors to help cover the costs of the service we provide. Our goal is to decrease the number of kittens born homeless and unwanted that grow into breeding feral unwanted suffering cats.

PURRS has spayed/neutered 270 cats since April 2015 preventing thousands of unwanted kittens from being born on the streets of Piqua.

Purrs has worked to raise over $13,000 since Sept 2015 through the generous donations of the community and attendance to our fundraisers. 90% of funds have gone directly to vet fees.

Miami County Animal Shelter Still has a capture/kill procedure BUT there is an increase of cats for adoption due to eartip proof of spay/neuter/rabies!

Purrs is willing to mentor new TNR groups in Miami County, OH to prevent the suffering of street/feral cats in Miami County.  We have Purrs in Piqua, OH and our affiliate Cat Advocates of Troy in Troy, OH. See our link page to connect with other TNR groups in Northwestern Ohio. Send us an email, like our Facebook page and message us if you would like to learn how to prevent unwanted kittens in other Miami County, OH towns.

TNR WORKS! Decades of shelter euthanasia in Piqua. Ask yourself, has it worked? NO! Trapping and euthanizing at the shelter only removes some cats from neighborhoods. Cats breed faster than their capability to KILL community cats. SUPPORT TNR!
